Marshfield man gets prison for violating child abuse probation - 07/03/2008
A 48-year-old Marshfield man was sentenced in Wood County Circuit Court to two years and three months in prison for violating his probation on a child abuse charge.
Steven M. Eberhart was given credit for 390 days already served and two years of extended supervision to follow his prison sentence. On Tuesday, Circuit Court Judge Greg Potter ordered Eberhart to undergo alcohol and other drug assessment, have no contact with his victim and attend domestic abuse counseling classes.
According to court documents, on Aug. 8, Eberhart was sentenced to one year in jail and given three years of probation for choking and striking a 12-year-old boy.
While on probation, Eberhart consumed alcohol and was physically and verbally aggressive toward a woman, all violations of his rules, according to court documents.

Man pleads not guilty to Tupperware theft - 07/03/2008
A 29-year-old Wisconsin Rapids man pleaded not guilty in Wood County Circuit Court to a charge connected to stealing Tupperware.
Daniel N. Osowski is charged with burglary as a repeat offender. If convicted, he faces a maximum of 14 1/2 years in prison. During a hearing Tuesday, Circuit Court Judge Greg Potter scheduled Osowskis next appearance for Aug. 22.
According to court documents, on May 21, Osowski removed the pins to the door of another apartment in his building, went inside and sole Tupperware pots and pans. A woman who saw Osowski steal the items returned them to the owner.
