Background Information Member of the International Brotherhood of Magicians (IBM) and Hawai'i Magicians Society, Ring #185 (Vice-President, 2001 AND interim president), current member and treasurer of the Society of American Magicians (SAM), Jimmy Yoshida Hawai'i Assembly #89. Mr. "O" grew up in Pearl City, Hawaii. He has been a teacher, counselor, administrator and educational specialist for the Hawaii Department of Education. He applies his 30 years of experience as an educator to enhance his performances with children and adults. He has been in magic for over 10 years. Mr. "O" performs regularly at Monty's Magic Theater (Yum Yum Tree in Ward Center) on the 2nd Friday of each month and every Monday night tableside magic. He along with Yona Chock and Monty, founder, performed on the opening day of the theater in October 2001. He also can be seen occasionally performing tableside magic at Tony Roma's Kahala and Pearl City and Sam Choy's Nimitz Restaurant. He aspires to one day be able to visit various schools statewide and share a counseling curriculum using the principles and metaphors of magic. His memorable magic experiences include taking magic lessons from Jimmy Yoshida, attending the SAM Conference awhile back in Las Vegas (Ballys), and opening night at Monty's Magic Theater. When he's not performing magic, he enjoys playing softball, golf, volleyball, bowling and advising the Junior Optimist Club, a community service club at Kaimuki Middle School. |
